Deborah Rowland is a renowned expert in the leadership of change, with a unique combination of experience, insight, and research. Throughout her career, she has personally led major change initiatives in global organizations such as Shell, Gucci Group, BBC Worldwide, and PepsiCo, where she held significant positions such as Group HR and VP of Organizational & Management Development.
In addition to her extensive experience leading change, Rowland also founded and grew a consulting firm that pioneered research in the field. She acts as a change coach to the executive boards of major corporations, including the German energy giant RWE, and has worked with clients such as De Beers, Dell Computers, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft Foods, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Prudential, Rolls-Royce Holdings, Royal Dutch Shell, and Unilever.
Rowland's research into the leadership of change has been widely published in academic journals and presented at the 2016 Academy of Management conference. She is also a sought-after speaker on the subject of change and its leadership.
Rowland is the co-author of the book Sustaining Change: Leadership That Works (Wiley, 2008), and her latest book, Still Moving: How To Lead Mindful Change, is based on groundbreaking research she conducted in 2015.
In addition to her professional achievements, Rowland has a rich personal life. She has lived in several places around the world, including New York, Switzerland, and France, and currently resides in London's Notting Hill and the Cornish coastal fishing village of Portloe.
